Calling All Pettyweights: Chris Brown & Soulja Boy

If you’re a fan of Instagram beefs, rapper feuds or just want to see two emotionally unstable men go at it for a few rounds-- look no further.

It’s the first month of the new year. And while you were pretending renew your life, lose 30 pounds, or stop stalking Kylie Jenner’s Snapchat- Chris Brown and Soulja Boy wasted no time pretending to set higher goals for 2017.

Chris Brown and Soulja Boy are gearing up to exchange blows in the ring in the biggest fight since Mayweather V. Pacquiao, Rousey V. Nunes (I’ll be shocked if it lasts that long), or since those two girls in your middle school slap-boxed each other to shreds over the last chocolate milk. So what fueled such an epic match up? Like all love stories, it started over a girl. But the girl in this scenario is anything but a damsel in distress- she's blatantly asking to be left alone.

Karrueche Tran holds the unfortunate title as Brown’s ex. The couple dated on and off from 2011 to 2014, with a few Rihanna intermissions. Although it’s been two years since Tran and Brown were publicly linked, the singer won’t let Tran crawl far enough away before dragging her back into his messy mix-ups. Fast forward now.

Tran shared a picture of herself soaking up the sun in Jamaica, and it wasn’t long before Soulja Boy jumped in to share his admiration. During, what I imagine is, his daily Karrueche comment patrol- Chris caught wind of the comment, and the rest was history.Over the course of several days, the two went back and forth threatening one another- each puffing their chest harder then the next. Not to mention, flaunting their ‘street’ creds because, let’s face it the hills of Hollywood can be hard to navigate.

The next step in this bicker battle is set to play out in Dubai in the coming weeks. If you can’t afford a quick trip overseas, aren’t interested or you’re taking the moral high ground by refusing to support two lost causes; something tells me this duo will be digging up drama for years to come- don’t blow your wad all in one place.
